Relocation of Charité Research Organisation's Phase I Unit
In January 2018 CRO’s Phase I unit moved from Campus Virchow-Klinikum (CVK) to Campus Mitte at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. Located at the very heart of Charité’s historic campus, the new facilities underwent extensive modernisation and therefore offer ideal conditions for the conduct of early clinical trials.
The new unit provides access to an increased capacity of 70 in-patient beds and can even be reconfigured to house up to 90 beds. Considering the previous capacity of 30 beds and additional upgrades to the unit this move allows us to extend the scope of services we can offer.
These additional upgrades include an integrated GMP area which is under construction at the moment. The close proximity to institutes and experts at Charité Campus Mitte on the other hand offers possibilities for the establishment of new cooperations as well as the development of existing ones. In this context CRO can access all available resources at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin such as 24-hr emergency services and state-of-the-art diagnostic as well as imaging capabilities.
All in all this relocation marks another important milestone in the continued and sustainable growth of Charité Research Organisation as a dedicated CRO for clinical research from FTIH to PoC.
